As a patient you have the following rights:

  • The right to privacy, confidentiality and self-determination.
  • The right to accept or refuse medical treatment.
  • The right to receive accurate and easily understood information about your state of health, diagnosis and treatment to facilitate your decision making.
  • The right to choose your treating doctor(s) and other medical professionals.
  • The right to access emergency health services.
  • The right to fully participate in all decisions related to your health care.
  • The right to receive treatment without discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, genetic, formal or source of payment.
  • The right to several opinions on your health.
  • The right to give consent for any treatment or examination and operation.
  • The right to ask questions.
  • The right to have access to all information contained in your medical record through your treating doctor.
  • The right to know everything about your treatment.
